Main Features:

Rental Period: During the regular season (between Memorial Day and Labor Day) the weekly rate (4-7 days) is the minimum rate available. For Memorial Day, Labor Day, and during the off-season we offer a lower weekend rate that includes picking up the trailer on Friday afternoon and returning the trailer Monday morning before 8am.

Here is the rental chart--with taxes--for all rental periods:

Reservations: Reservations can be made at any time during the year. We recommend making a reservation at least one week in advance of your intended pick-up date. For busy times like July 4th and the last week in July a reservation at least one month in advance is advisable.

We try to accommodate walk-in guests and last-minute reservations if we have campers available and if our schedule allows it . Please call ahead to see how our schedule looks and how many campers are available. You can also check rental camper availability.

Deposit: A $100.00 reservation/cleaning deposit must accompany the reservation. The deposit is separate from the rental fee. When you return the camper (in clean and undamaged condition) the deposit is refunded to you.

Please note card transactions for the deposit and rent are processed through our rental company, Southwest Rentals.

Cancellations: Deposits for cancellations made within ten days of the pick-up day are not refundable. Deposits for cancellations made at least eleven days prior to the pick-up day are refundable less a $10 processing fee.

Payment: The rental fee plus tax is due when you pick up the camper. We accept cash and all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express).

Hook-up Time: We hook-up campers by appointment only. Please call between 7:30am and 10:00am on your pick-up day for firm appointment time.

The normal hook-up times are 1, 2, 3, and 4 in the afternoon, depending on our schedule. Morning appointments can be arranged but your rent would start that day (for all afternoon appointments the rent starts the next day--this provides a free evening to pack, familiarize yourself with the camper, etc.)

Plan on being here about an hour so we can show you how the camper works, have you inspect the camper, and hook up the camper to your vehicle.

Inside the camper we provide a reminder card with the instructions and troubleshooting tips we cover during the rental demonstration. The instruction card looks like this:

Battery/Power Hook-up: Some campgrounds have a 110V power hook-up; the camper has a 20' power cord to connect to this power source.

If your campground does not have 110V power the camper's heater, lights, water pump, and powered roof vent (on the 176 and 208) will operate from a 12V battery. A fully-charged battery comes with the camper. However, you may need to charge the battery during your trip.

If you have a "hot lead" or charging circuit in your vehicle's trailer wiring, the battery will charge automatically from your tow vehicle.

If your tow vehicle is not equipped with a hot lead, you can charge the camper battery by hooking up jumper cables to your car battery and idling your tow vehicle. In this case, you will need your own jumper cables to hook-up the battery (we'll show you how to charge the battery during the pick-up demonstration).

Towing: Our rental campers use a 2" coupler. On the tow vehicle the top of the ball to the ground should measure ~21". A ball that is higher or lower than this by a few inches will work just fine.

For exterior lights (tail lights, brake lights, turn signals) the 176, 206LT, and 208 can use a 4-prong flat or a 7-prong round (US version). We also have adapters for 6-prong round connectors.

The 208 and 228LT requires a 7-prong round (US version) and a brake controller. If you want to rent the 208 or 228LT but do not have a brake controller on your vehicle we highly recommend these two hitch companies for brake controller installation:

(Most car dealerships and U-Haul locations also install brake controllers.) Further details regarding brake controllers for the 228LT.

A popular option for those not wanting a permanently-mounted brake controller on their tow vehicle is a wireless brake controller called the Curt Echo that operates from your cell phone and plugs into your tow vehicle's 7-prong connector. The hitch companies listed above (and this Etrailer page) will have more information about this brake controller.

Tax: The rental tax for Denver is 8.81%

*Although we rent campers year-round, the water system will be winterized (non-functional) from October through April. For cold-weather camping we recommend bringing your own water jugs and keeping them in the camper where the furnace will help prevent the water jugs from freezing.

**"Sleeps 6" and "sleeps 8" --technically, yes. Realistically, though, not so much. The factory sets the "sleeps __" number based on the number of beds in the camper, not necessarily on the size of each bed in the camper.

For example, a 60" x 80" bed is considered to sleep two people even though it could hold three children. A 36" x 64" dinette that converts into a bed is considered to also sleep two people even though it could barely fit one adult.

Bottom line: look for the dimensions listed for each bed to see what size you're actually getting. More details at Not All Dinettes are Created Equal.

***Some features included on sale trailers are not included on rental trailers. To be clear: our rental trailers do not come with an awning, grill, overhead cabinet, prep table, roof rack, or storage nets--some these items are a logistical nightmare and, thus, not available for rental. Thank you for understanding!

Fine Print: Roberts Sales reserves the right to change prices, model-year, model, specifications, and camper components at any time without notice. That sounds scary--the only reason we'd change anything from what was agreed upon when a reservation was made is if a catastrophic event renders a camper completely unusable in which case we would make every effort to find a similar camper. For the record, we have never turned away a customer WHO HAS A RESERVATION due to a camper being out of commission.
